
The Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation seeks to advance amateur sport, recreation, and youth development for all in Bermuda – from leisure recreation to athletic excellence, and to strengthen the significant contribution these initiatives make towards enhancement of the quality of life for the community.

What we do?
The Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation focuses support on:
Providing funding/support for National Sports Governing Bodies. (NSGB’s).
Providing funding/support for National Youth Organizing Bodies (NYOB’s).
Managing and maintaining Government sports and recreation facilities.
Providing After-School Programmes for school age children.
Providing Summer Day Camps for school-age children.
Preparing and managing budget to ensure intended deadlines are met.

On Saturday, March 18th, the Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation celebrated Bermuda’s best athletes at the 41st Annual Sports Awards. Dame Flora Duffy and Jah-Nhai Perinchief took home BEST ATHLETES and Caitlyn Bobb and Sebastian Kempe walked away with BEST JUNIOR ATHLETES of the year.

National Sports Policy (2022-2027)
Sport is vitally important to communities. It brings joy, promotes health and inspires national pride.
The National Sports Policy is a five-year promise to raise the value of sport in Bermuda and increase participation and regional success. It proposes to do this through a new vision and mission and five goals to elevate sport in Bermuda.
